The Yukon Gear & Axle YGLF9-35 Grizzly Locker is a full mechanical positive-locking differential built for Ford 9", 9.5", and 10" dropout-style housings running upgraded 35-spline axle shafts. Constructed from a forged steel case with 8620 chromoly internals, it is engineered to deliver maximum traction under the extreme power and torque loads of drag racing, off-road competition, and high-performance street driving. Under load, the Grizzly Locker sends 100% of available power to both tires simultaneously, while its mechanical design allows the unit to automatically disengage during turns to accommodate wheel speed differences.

What separates the YGLF9-35 from conventional locker designs is its patented tooth geometry. The inner clutch teeth feature a larger radius at the base compared to back-cut alternatives, providing up to 350% greater strength at the tooth root - the point where most lockers fracture under shock loading events such as hard launches, aggressive axle wrap, or sudden terrain changes. This design also dramatically reduces the risk of breakage from catastrophic axle failure events that would damage lesser lockers. Combined with its compatibility across all Ford 9" gear ratios, the Grizzly Locker is one of the most versatile and resilient lockers available for this iconic platform.

Important: The stock Ford 9" differential was factory-equipped with 28-spline or 31-spline axle shafts. The YGLF9-35 requires upgraded 35-spline aftermarket axle shafts to be installed prior to use - the carrier spline count must match the axle shafts exactly. Carrier bearings LM104949 and LM104911 are required for installation. Due to the aggressive mechanical engagement behavior of this locker design, Yukon and most drivetrain professionals recommend this unit for dedicated racing or off-road builds rather than daily street use.
