Product Description

The Wilwood 140-17511-R is an AERO6-DM Direct-Mount front big brake kit for Toyota and Lexus trucks and SUVs, covering the 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma, 2007-2014 FJ Cruiser, 2003-2014 4Runner, 2003-2009 Lexus GX470, and 2010-2014 Lexus GX460. It is identical in construction and caliper specification to the 140-17511-DR but uses GT slotted-only rotors rather than drilled and slotted rotors. The slotted surface design provides consistent pad-to-rotor bite and effective gas and debris evacuation under sustained braking without the stress-concentration points associated with drilled holes -- making this variant a preferred choice for high-heat, high-load applications including towing, off-road, and overlanding. The AERO6-DM caliper was engineered specifically for direct mounting on factory disc spindles in heavy-weight and extreme-duty truck applications. Six stainless steel pistons per caliper -- staged at 1.62" and two at 1.38" -- provide 5.40 in² of total piston area per side for substantially increased clamping force over the factory system. BP-22 performance brake pads are included and provide fade-resistant braking across a wide temperature range. The system is fully compatible with the factory ABS, master cylinder, and rear brakes -- no proportioning valve changes or brake booster modifications are required. A minimum 17" wheel is required and buyers should verify clearance using Wilwood's wheel clearance diagram (DS1569) before ordering. No drilling or cutting is required for installation.
