Product Description

The Torque Solution TS-TL-701 is the AVCS-specific intake cam sprocket holding tool for 2004-2021 Subaru EJ-series engines equipped with Single or Dual AVCS - covering the STI, WRX, Forester XT, Legacy GT, Outback XT, and Baja Turbo. The AVCS intake cam sprocket uses a different bolt pattern than the standard exhaust cam sprocket, requiring a dedicated tool (TS-TL-701) rather than the standard cam tool (TS-TL-700). Without the correct AVCS-specific holding tool, technicians risk damaging the cam sprocket or surrounding components during cam seal service, head removal, or engine rebuilds. The TS-TL-701 is a direct replacement for the OEM Subaru AVCS cam tool (part number 499977500).
