Note: Fitment confirmed through JEGS, American Trucks, ShockSurplus, and Rocky Mountain Suspension. This shock is for the FRONT position only, sized for 3" of front lift. Excludes all HD (2500/3500) models - HD applications require different part numbers. Vehicles equipped with factory Autoride suspension cannot use N8003 and must use Skyjacker part number C93AR. 2WD models are not compatible. Sold individually - 1x shock per order. Product Description

The Skyjacker N8003 is a single Nitro 8000 series front shock absorber designed for the 1999-2006 GMT800-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban 1500, and Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 in 4WD configuration, sized specifically for 3" of front lift. As part of the Nitro 8000 series, it uses a twin-tube nitrogen gas design pressurized at 150 PSI - a pressure level that reduces foam and aeration in the hydraulic fluid under hard cycling, resulting in more consistent damping force and less performance fade during sustained off-road use compared to conventional non-pressurized twin-tube shocks.

The multi-stage velocity-sensitive valving is the defining feature of the Nitro 8000 series. Rather than a fixed resistance, the shock automatically adjusts its damping force in response to how quickly the suspension is moving - delivering firm control during hard off-road hits while remaining compliant and comfortable at slower speeds on highway surfaces. The D.O.M. (Drawn Over Mandrel) outer tube provides tighter dimensional consistency than ERW tubing, reducing piston side-load for more uniform wear across the piston seals and longer service life. The 5/8" double chrome hardened piston rod with micro-polished shaft minimizes friction at the upper seal and resists corrosion from water crossings, road salt, and trail debris. Red polyurethane bushings provide a firmer, more positive connection to the vehicle's mounting points vs. factory rubber, reducing slop and improving shock responsiveness.

Important fitment notes: The N8003 is for front installation only on 1999-2006 GMT800 4WD 1500 platforms - rear shocks for this generation use different part numbers. 2500/3500 HD models are not compatible. Silverado/Sierra/Tahoe models equipped from the factory with Autoride active suspension require Skyjacker part number C93AR and cannot use the standard N8003. All necessary bushings, washers, and nuts for installation are included; factory shock mounting bolts are reused. Skyjacker provides a non-prorated lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship for the original retail purchaser. Sold individually - order 2x for a complete front pair.
