Product Description

The Skyjacker N8023 is a Nitro 8000 Series twin-tube, 150 PSI nitrogen gas-charged shock absorber engineered for serious off-road performance across a wide range of classic and vintage trucks, Jeeps, and 4x4 SUVs. Unlike standard hydraulic shocks, the nitrogen gas charge actively works to prevent aeration and fluid foaming during extended use - keeping the shock responsive and fade-resistant whether you're crawling technical trails or hammering rough back roads. The velocity-sensitive valving continuously monitors suspension movement speed and adjusts damping force accordingly, delivering a controlled and stable ride at any pace.

Built around a hardened 5/8 in. double chrome piston rod, bonded iron piston, and a leak-proof orifice disk seal, the N8023 is designed to hold up against the demands of heavy-duty, high-articulation use found on lifted 4WD platforms. Red polyurethane bushings at both mount points resist deterioration far longer than factory rubber, and the included protective red boot shields the rod from rocks, mud, and debris. An internal rebound bumper prevents damaging metal-to-metal contact at full droop. Note that this shock must be installed in the body-down orientation to function correctly.
