The Skyjacker B8503 is a Black MAX 8500 Series twin-tube foam-cell front shock absorber engineered for lifted GM full-size trucks and SUVs from the GMT800 platform era. It is designed to work with 2-3 inch front lifts on the 1999-2007 Silverado/Sierra 1500 Classic, 2002-2005 Avalanche 1500, 2000-2005 Suburban 1500, 2006-2010 Hummer H3, and 2009-2010 H3T - and with 2-4 inch front lifts on the 2000-2006 Tahoe, Yukon, and Yukon XL 1500. The Black MAX platform's defining feature is its proprietary foam-cell technology: a compressed foam insert inside the shock tube that compensates for thermal oil expansion during sustained hard use, preventing the fade and inconsistency that standard twin-tube hydraulic shocks experience when running hot.
