Product Description

The Rancho RS55229 is an RS5000X series front shock absorber covering a wide range of Ford, Mercury, and Mazda SUVs and trucks, including the Ford Explorer (1995-2001), Explorer Sport (2001-2003), Explorer Sport Trac (2001-2005), Ford Ranger (1998-2011 with torsion bar), Mercury Mountaineer (1997-2001), and Mazda B2500/B3000/B4000. All fitments are stock height applications. Rancho's Cross Tuned technology combines a patented rebound valving system with an advanced compression phase to deliver improved handling and ride quality on both paved roads and light off-road terrain.

Built with a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod, 35mm sintered iron piston, and double-welded mounting loops, the RS55229 is engineered for long-term reliability across a broad range of daily-driver trucks and SUVs. Nitrogen gas pressurization at 150 PSI suppresses damping fade and foaming, while all-weather fluid maintains consistent performance from -40°F to 248°F. Note that Ford Explorer models equipped with Automatic Ride Control (ARC) are excluded, and Ranger/Mazda B-Series fitment applies only to vehicles with torsion bar front springs.
