Fitment Notes

  • Fits all 1977-1996 GM B-Body full-size vehicles sharing the same rear suspension mounting geometry - both sedans and wagons. Station wagons require notching each side of the rear frame crossmember, approximately 4 in. wide and 1/2-3/4 in. deep per side.
  • The lower shock mount bracket may not work with all aftermarket rear end housings - verify compatibility before ordering.
  • Nearly 5 in. of total rear ride height adjustment range via the combination of the fully threaded shock body (approximately 1.5 in.) and adjustable mounting brackets.
  • 250 lb./in. spring rate is the medium/street-oriented rate for this platform. For single-adjustable valving at the same rate, order RCK52384.
  • For 1993-1996 Caprice Sedan and 1994-1996 Impala SS, QA1 recommends using 5/8 in. extended-length lower trailing arms (sold separately) to properly center the tire in the wheel well when lowering.
  • Bolt-in installation - no cutting or welding required for sedans. Station wagons require minor notching as noted above.
  • Sold as a pair - one kit covers both rear shocks and springs.

Features

  • Truly independent double-adjustable valving - 18 positions of rebound and 18 positions of compression on separate knobs, providing 324 total valving combinations for precise street and track tuning.
  • Nearly 5 in. of total rear ride height adjustment via adjustable mounting brackets combined with a fully threaded aluminum shock body - the widest range available for this platform.
  • Bolt-in installation using specially designed mounting brackets and all necessary hardware - no cutting or welding required for sedans.
  • Lightweight billet aluminum shock body reduces unsprung weight for improved suspension responsiveness and ride quality.
  • 250 lb./in. medium 12 in. coil springs matched to the shock for a balanced street-performance rear coilover package.
  • 100% dyno tested and serialized; serviceable and rebuildable by QA1 authorized service centers.
  • Eligible for QA1's Limited Lifetime Warranty (register at QA1 before installation); proudly made in the USA.

Product Description

The QA1 RCK52380 is a bolt-in rear coil-over conversion kit for all 1977-1996 GM B-Body full-size vehicles, including the Chevrolet Caprice, Impala SS, Buick Roadmaster, LeSabre, Oldsmobile Delta 88, and Pontiac Bonneville. It replaces the factory rear shock absorbers with a pair of double-adjustable billet aluminum coil-overs, 250 lb./in. springs, and specially designed adjustable mounting brackets that together provide nearly 5 in. of total rear ride height adjustment - the widest range available for this platform. The combination of the threaded shock body and adjustable bracket positions allows the B-Body's rear to be set anywhere from mildly lowered to dramatically slammed, with quick and precise on-car adjustments at each corner.

The double-adjustable valving delivers 18 independent positions of both rebound and compression on separate external knobs, giving 324 total tuning combinations for street, autocross, or performance driving. Installation is bolt-in for sedans using all-included hardware - no cutting or welding required. Station wagons will require minor notching of the rear frame crossmember on each side (approximately 4 in. wide, 1/2-3/4 in. deep). When lowering 1993-1996 Caprice Sedans or 1994-1996 Impala SS models, QA1 recommends pairing this kit with their 5/8 in. extended-length lower trailing arms (sold separately) to properly center the tire in the wheel well. All shocks are dyno tested and serialized and are eligible for QA1's Limited Lifetime Warranty upon registration before installation.
