Product Description

The NGK 1422 (ILKR8E6) is a Laser Iridium spark plug engineered as the OEM-equivalent replacement for the Mitsubishi 4B11 and 4B11T 2.0L inline-4 engines found in the 2008-2010 Lancer and Lancer Evolution X. It directly replaces Mitsubishi factory part number 1822A021. The laser-welded 0.6mm fine-wire iridium center electrode requires less voltage to fire and produces a more focused spark than conventional plugs, improving combustion efficiency across the full RPM range - from street driving to wide-open throttle on the turbocharged Evo X platform. The Taper Cut platinum ground electrode promotes better flame spread and minimizes ground electrode interference with the spark.

Pre-gapped at 0.024" and ready to install, the 1422 is the stock heat range plug for the 4B11T and is suitable for mildly modified Evo X applications as well. Builders running higher boost or aggressive fueling should consider a one-step colder plug. The trivalent plating on the shell protects against thread seizing in aluminum heads, and the 5,000-ohm resistor ensures clean compatibility with Mitsubishi's MFI ignition and ECU systems.
