Unlike conventional automatic transmission fluids or standard gear oils, DCT transmissions require a precisely balanced fluid that simultaneously manages gear lubrication, clutch pack friction behavior, hydraulic actuator response, and thermal stability - all in a densely packaged, high-load gearbox operating at tight shift intervals with no tolerance for fluid-induced vibration or shudder. Motul's Multi DCTF formula addresses all of these requirements in a single, broadly compatible fluid approved for use across the major DCT platforms from ZF, GETRAG, and BORG WARNER.
