• Rear shock absorber - position is Rear Left and Rear Right. Sold individually (per shock); two units are required for a complete rear axle replacement set.
• Critical: This part number (8240-1298SPORT) is specifically for BMW F22/F3x/F4x vehicles equipped with the M Sport or M Technik suspension package. Vehicles with the standard (non-M Sport) suspension require a different part number: KONI 8240-1294SPORT. Verify your vehicle's suspension specification before ordering - M Sport suspension uses stiffer springs and different shock travel geometry than the standard setup.
• Does not fit vehicles equipped with Electronic Damper Control (EDC) / Adaptive suspension - these systems use electronically controlled dampers that are not compatible with this passive shock. Verify your vehicle is not equipped with EDC before ordering.
• Fits both RWD and xDrive (AWD) variants across all listed models - the rear shock mounting geometry is the same regardless of front drivetrain configuration.

Product Description

The KONI 8240-1298SPORT is a yellow-painted, internally adjustable rear shock absorber from KONI's Sport 8240 Series, engineered specifically for BMW F22/F3x/F4x vehicles equipped with the M Sport or M Technik suspension package. It covers the 2 Series (F22/F23), 3 Series (F30/F31/F34), and 4 Series (F32/F33/F36) platforms across their full model year ranges - from the early F30 3 Series (2012) through the final F4x 4 Series (2019) - in both RWD and xDrive AWD configurations, and across all body styles including Sedan, Touring, Gran Turismo, Coupe, Gran Coupe, and Convertible. Critically, this is a suspension-package-specific part: the M Sport/M Technik suspension uses stiffer springs and different shock geometry than the standard setup, and this unit is purpose-valved and dimensioned for M Sport spring rates. Vehicles with the standard (non-M Sport) suspension require KONI 8240-1294SPORT instead.
