Fitment Notes

• Fits the NC (NCEC) generation Mazda MX-5 / Roadster with the LF-VE 2.0L naturally aspirated engine only.
• HKS has not tested fitment on 5MT (5-speed manual transmission) models produced from December 2008 onwards - this variant is excluded from confirmed fitment.
• This is a complete intake replacement kit - the factory airbox and suction hose are removed and replaced with the Racing Suction aluminium pipe and open-element cone filter assembly.
• Designed for OBD-II closed-loop operation - no ECU reset is required for installation on standard vehicles. Some vehicles with heavily modified management systems or non-standard tuning may require AFR or F-CON adjustment - confirm with your tuner if running non-stock engine management.
• For best filter performance, change the filter element regularly per HKS maintenance recommendations.
• HKS recommends fitting high-temperature spark plugs after installation due to the increased combustion efficiency resulting from improved air intake.

Product Description

The HKS 70020-AZ108 is the Racing Suction Reloaded intake kit for the 2005-2015 Mazda MX-5 / Roadster NC (NCEC) with the LF-VE 2.0L naturally aspirated engine. The Racing Suction concept replaces not only the factory airbox but also the restrictive OEM rubber suction hose - which creates turbulence and flow resistance through its corrugated geometry - with a vehicle-specific polished aluminium intake pipe engineered for the NCEC platform. Combined with the Phi200-100 open-element cone filter on the Hyper Stealth Frame anodized aluminium backplate, the system delivers a significantly freer intake path that improves mid-to-high RPM throttle response and engine breathing.

HKS measured a confirmed 2kW power increase on the LF-VE with this installation. The kit is designed for OBD-II closed-loop operation on standard vehicles, allowing installation without an ECU reset - though vehicles with non-standard management systems may require AFR adjustment.
