Product Description

The HKS 11004-AN017 is the GTIII-RS Sports Turbine Kit developed specifically for the Nissan Skyline ER34 fitted with the RB25DET engine - covering the May 1998 through May 2001 production window of this iconic single-turbo Skyline variant. The engineering brief for this kit balances two objectives that are rarely achieved together: producing significant power gains over the OEM turbocharger while retaining the stock turbine's exterior geometry so the installation maintains the original engine bay appearance and requires minimal hardware modification. The GTIII-RS achieves this by using HKS's high-efficiency CHRA with a 55.3mm compressor and 56mm turbine, fitted to housing designs that match the OEM bolt pattern and plumbing layout exactly. On a stock-internal RB25DET, the target output is 243 kW (330 ps). With reinforced engine internals, the same turbo supports 331 kW (450 ps) - eliminating the need to change turbos as the build progresses.

A central development focus for the 11004-AN017 was the actuator and wastegate system. The OEM actuator is a known limiting factor on the RB25DET, struggling to maintain consistent boost at high RPM. HKS replaced it with a reinforced large actuator, preset at 88.3 kPa (0.9 kgf/cm²), combined with an enlarged swing valve port in the turbine housing. This combination addresses both ends of the RPM range simultaneously - improving boost rise at low RPM and holding boost stability at high RPM. The exclusive turbine inlet pipe features larger bend radii and smooth cross-section transitions to minimize pressure loss at the turbo inlet, while the cast (not welded) intercooler outlet pipe uses flange connections to eliminate restriction at that joint. A purpose-designed heat shield is also included to block turbine radiant heat from surrounding engine bay components.

HKS's own test vehicle dyno data - a modified ER34 running an F-CON V Pro 3.4 ECU, 550cc injectors, 195L/h fuel pump, HKS front-mount intercooler, and HKS exhaust - produced 271 kW (369.5 ps) at 6,500 rpm and 439.5 Nm at 5,260 rpm. HKS notes that engine internal reinforcement is required when operating above 100 kPa boost, and that fuel system components (injectors, fuel pump, head gasket) should be upgraded depending on the target power level. The kit is not CARB legal and is not available for sale in California. Compatibility with earlier RB25DET platforms such as the ECR33 is under ongoing verification by HKS.
