MPN: A2-388

Weight: 42.8 lb

Inventory: 12

Type: Brake Rotors - Slotted

Vehicle Fitment

  • 2022+ Lotus Emira (V6 3.5L Supercharged - all transmission variants) - Rear axle
  • 2023+ Lotus Emira (i4 2.0L AMG Turbo - all transmission variants) - Rear axle

Fitment Notes

  • Rear axle only - sold as a pair (2 rotors); for the matching front axle set, see GiroDisc A1-388 (370mm, 72 curved vanes, D1-388 rings)
  • Direct OE replacement - bolts to the factory rear hubs and works with the factory 4-piston AP Racing rear calipers without modification; no spacers, adapters, or recalibration required
  • Compatible with all Lotus Emira variants and both powertrain options (V6 and i4) - the rear brake hardware is shared across powertrain variants
  • Factory rear brake bias and ABS calibration are fully preserved
  • When rotor rings wear out, only the D2-388 replacement rings need to be purchased - aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable

Features

  • Two-piece fully floating construction - high-carbon iron rotor ring joined to a black anodized 6061-T6 aircraft-specification aluminum hat via a floating spring clip and Belleville washer assembly; the aluminum hat replaces the heavy cast iron hat section of the OEM single-piece unit, reducing unsprung and rotational mass at each rear corner
  • High-carbon iron rotor rings machined from GiroDisc's proprietary casting formulated to their own metallurgical specifications - superior wear resistance and thermal consistency versus OEM iron
  • 48 curved internal vanes - act as a centrifugal pump pulling cooling air in through the hub and driving it outward through the disc as the rotor spins; effective thermal management for the rear axle under track and sustained road use
  • Spring clips and Belleville washers - GiroDisc's race-ready floating hardware provides axial and radial float under braking loads while eliminating cold-temperature rattle and clicking; street-friendly from day one
  • Rotor self-centering - floating design allows the disc to self-center between pads on each release, reducing residual drag and promoting even pad wear across the swept surface
  • Slotted rotor surface - continuously sweeps brake dust, gases, and debris from the pad contact face for consistent bite and resistance to glazing under hard use
  • Black anodized aluminum hat - corrosion-resistant finish with a clean visual appearance behind the factory AP Racing calipers
  • Rebuildable design - when rings wear, only the D2-388 replacement rings need to be purchased; aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable, reducing long-term running costs versus replacing full single-piece OE rotors
  • All major components manufactured in-house at GiroDisc's facility in Bellingham, WA from domestically sourced materials

Product Description

The GiroDisc A2-388 is a pair of two-piece floating slotted rear brake rotors designed as a direct OE replacement for the 2022+ Lotus Emira - covering both the V6 3.5L supercharged and i4 2.0L AMG turbocharged powertrain variants. At 350 mm, the A2-388 matches the factory rear rotor diameter used with the Emira's standard 4-piston AP Racing rear calipers, bolting directly onto the factory rear hubs without any modification, spacer, or ABS recalibration. The only structural change from the OE configuration is the replacement of the heavy single-piece cast iron hat with a black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum hat, with the iron rotor ring mounted on a floating spring clip and Belleville washer assembly rather than being rigidly joined as a single casting.

The rotor rings are machined from GiroDisc's proprietary high-carbon iron casting, produced entirely in-house at their Bellingham, WA facility from domestically sourced materials. The 48 curved internal vanes function as a centrifugal pump during rotation, pulling cooling air in through the hub and pushing it outward through the disc face for effective rear axle thermal management during track use. The floating hardware system - spring clips and Belleville washers - provides axial and radial float under braking loads while eliminating the cold-temperature rattle that can occur with simpler floating designs, making the A2-388 as usable on the street as on a track day.

The floating mount also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads each time braking force is released, reducing residual drag and promoting even wear across the full swept surface. When the rings eventually reach the end of their service life, only the D2-388 replacement rings need to be purchased - the aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable. The front axle companion set is GiroDisc A1-388 (370mm / 72 curved vanes / D1-388 rings). All A2-388 components are manufactured at GiroDisc's facility in Bellingham, WA.
