Fitment Notes

• Fits the front brake caliper only - for the rear caliper rebuild kit for these models, see CCRK2-186
• Fits only the standard blue 4-piston front calipers with OEM iron rotors - both pistons are the same diameter: 40mm
• Not for M2 Competition, or M3/M4 CS models equipped with gold calipers or the optional carbon ceramic (CCM) brake package - those applications use a different 6-piston front caliper requiring a different kit (CCRK1-220)
• One kit rebuilds one caliper - order two kits per vehicle for a complete front axle rebuild

The GiroDisc CCRK1-186 is a front brake caliper rebuild kit engineered for the standard blue 4-piston front calipers fitted to the 2015-2020 BMW F8X M3, M4, and M2 models equipped with iron rotors. These calipers use four identical 40mm pistons, and this kit includes the complete set of piston seals and dust boots needed to restore one caliper to factory operating condition. Components are manufactured to GiroDisc's own specifications for this BMW caliper application.

This kit is specifically for the blue 4-piston front calipers found on the standard F80 M3, F82/F83 M4, and F87 M2. The M2 Competition and M3/M4 CS variants equipped with gold calipers or the optional carbon ceramic brake package use a different 6-piston front caliper and require CCRK1-220 instead. Caliper seal degradation on the F8X platform is a known maintenance item, particularly for cars that see track use - where heat cycling accelerates hardening and compression set in the piston seals, leading to a gradual softening of pedal feel, piston sticking, or outright fluid weeping. GiroDisc recommends pairing any rebuild with their titanium pad shields to significantly reduce heat transfer into the caliper face and extend the time between rebuilds.
