  • Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG Wagon (S205, 2016-2021)
  • Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG / S63 AMG Coupe / S63 AMG Cabriolet (W222/C217/A217) - iron disc models, 2013+
  • Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG / S65 AMG Coupe / S65 AMG Cabriolet (W222/C217/A217) - iron disc models, 2014+
  • Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG (R231, with iron discs, 2012+)
  • Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (R231, with iron discs, 2012+)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits iron disc rear brake models only - not compatible with Mercedes-AMG ceramic composite (CCM) rear brakes unless performing an iron rotor conversion
  • Direct bolt-on replacement for OEM 360mm rear iron rotors - no modifications required; compatible with factory OEM rear calipers
  • Maintains factory brake bias and ABS efficiency
  • Sold as a pair (two rear rotors)

Features

  • Two-piece fully floating design separates the 6061-T6 aluminum hat from the cast iron disc ring - prevents thermal warping, reduces pad knockback, and allows the rotor to self-center between the pads
  • GiroDisc proprietary high-carbon cast iron disc rings poured in the USA and machined entirely in-house at GiroDisc - same material specification used by professional racing organizations
  • Curved directional vane design acts as a centrifugal pump during braking, actively drawing cooling air through the disc to reduce heat buildup and brake fade
  • 10 cadmium-plated high-strength alloy steel drive pins secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers - transfer braking torque while maintaining full axial and radial float between hat and disc
  • Anti-noise spring washers allow the disc to expand freely under heat while eliminating cold-weather rattle associated with floating rotors
  • Approximately 2.5 lbs lighter per rotor than OEM (12 lbs vs. ~14.5 lbs stock) - reduces unsprung and rotational mass for improved acceleration, steering response, and suspension dynamics
  • Fully rebuildable - replace only the cast iron disc rings when worn; retain aluminum hats and hardware for multiple service cycles
  • Made in the USA using domestically sourced materials

Product Description

The GiroDisc A2-148 is a 360mm two-piece floating rear rotor set covering a broad range of Mercedes-AMG performance models - from the C190 AMG GT to the W205 C63 AMG, S-Class AMG, and R231 SL63/SL65. As a direct bolt-on replacement for OEM 360mm rear iron rotors, the A2-148 installs without modification and retains full factory caliper, brake bias, and ABS compatibility across all supported iron-disc applications.

At approximately 12 lbs per corner - versus roughly 14.5 lbs for the OEM unit - the A2-148 shaves meaningful unsprung and rotational mass from the rear axle. GiroDisc's two-piece floating design allows the proprietary high-carbon cast iron disc ring to thermally expand and contract without transmitting stress to the aluminum hat, virtually eliminating rotor warp and pad knockback under sustained high-load use. Curved directional vanes inside the disc actively pump cooling air through the rotor during braking to improve heat dissipation and maintain consistent pedal feel. The rotors are fully rebuildable - when the disc rings eventually wear, only the rings need replacement, keeping long-term maintenance costs well below OEM pricing. Made entirely in the USA from domestically sourced materials.
