Product Description

The Fabtech FTS7231 Performance Twin Tube Shock Absorber is engineered as a direct rear-axle replacement for the 1995.5-2004 1st Gen Toyota Tacoma in 4WD and 2WD PreRunner 6-lug configurations. Designed by Fabtech to work in conjunction with their Toyota Tacoma suspension lift systems (component of kits K4025, K7015, and K7016B), the FTS7231 features twin tube hydraulic construction with high velocity 9-stage valving and a closed cell foam insert that delivers excellent damping capabilities while resisting shock fade during sustained high-speed off-road use.

The shock uses a hardened 9/16-inch chrome piston rod and a 1-3/8-inch outer diameter piston, with polyurethane bushings at both EB1 eye mounts for long service life and reduced NVH. The 22.83-inch extended length, 13.92-inch collapsed length, and 8.91-inch stroke are matched to the factory mounting points and lift-system geometry. Installation is a straightforward bolt-on procedure that reuses the factory shock mounting bolts and includes all necessary washers, bushings, and nuts (shock boot sold separately). Sold individually -- order quantity 2 for a complete rear-axle replacement.
