Vehicle Fitment

  • 1998-1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V (CP9A, 2.0L Turbo 4G63, AWD) - GSR trim only
  • 1999-2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI (CP9A, 2.0L Turbo 4G63, AWD) - all trims including Tommi Makinen Edition
  • 2001-2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII (CT9A, 2.0L Turbo 4G63, AWD) - GSR, RS, and GT-A
  • 2003-2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (CT9A, 2.0L Turbo 4G63, AWD) - all trims including MR, RS, and SE
  • 2005-2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (CT9A, 2.0L Turbo 4G63, AWD) - all trims including MR, RS, SE, and MR Touring

Fitment Notes

  • Does not fit the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V RS - the RS trim uses a smaller rear rotor; the GSR is the 300mm Brembo-equipped variant
  • Does not fit the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (CZ4A) - the Evo X uses an entirely different rear brake specification
  • Verify your current rear rotor diameter is 300mm before ordering - earlier Evo IV and below use different rear brake specifications
  • Thermic Black coating does not require removal before install - clears naturally from the pad contact zone within the first 10-20 stops
  • Do not fit upgrade pads to the rear unless the same upgrade is also fitted to the front

Features

  • Wide-aperture slots draw cool air under the pad contact zone, reducing heat buildup and preventing brake fade under hard driving or track conditions
  • Blind-drilled dimples provide superior pad degassing without the stress crack risk of through-drilled holes
  • Thermic Black anti-corrosion finish protects all non-contact areas from road salt, brine, and moisture
  • Unidirectional rotor design optimized for left and right side placement for maximum rear braking effectiveness
  • 22mm vented construction matches the OEM Brembo-equipped rear brake specification across Evo V GSR-IX platforms
  • Precision CNC machined to within 0.05mm tolerances; 100% runout and dimensionally inspected before release
  • Cast from G3000 high-carbon grey iron - the same spec used in OEM production
  • Passed European R90 brake safety standards; proven to run significantly cooler than non-slotted rotors

Product Description

The EBC GD996 3GD Series Rear Brake Rotors are a precision direct-fit upgrade for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR through IX, covering the CP9A and CT9A platforms across all GSR, RS, and MR trims that use the factory Brembo rear brake package. The Lancer Evolution's AWD drivetrain and aggressive brake balance demand a rear rotor that can keep up with hard braking events, and the GD996's dimpled-and-slotted surface actively draws cool air through the rear contact zone to expel heat, gases, and brake dust for more consistent rear braking performance whether you're on canyon roads or preparing for a track day.

Each rotor is individually balanced and runout-inspected before leaving the factory for smooth, vibration-free performance from day one. The Thermic Black coating shields non-swept areas from corrosion and clears naturally from the contact zone during break-in - no prep required. EBC recommends pairing these rotors with Yellowstuff or Bluestuff rear brake pads and a 500-mile bedding period with progressive braking to fully seat the pad-to-rotor contact surfaces.
