Product Description

The DEI 50502 Floor & Tunnel Shield II is a 21" x 48" (7.0 sq ft) high-performance heat and sound barrier sheet designed to protect vehicle interiors, electronics, and components from extreme radiant heat. Constructed from an embossed 10 mil aluminum face bonded to a 1/8" composite glass-fiber core with a patented high-temperature woven glass-fiber adhesive backing, it withstands direct temperatures up to 1,750°F while its adhesive maintains secure bond past 450°F.

At only 3/16" thick, it excels in tight clearance areas including firewalls, transmission tunnels, floor pans, under-hoods, and fuel cell surrounds. The embossed aluminum surface provides superior heat reflection and rigidity, while also delivering up to 50% sound deadening of unwanted road noise. Easily cut to shape with tin snips, it adheres to metal, plastic, carbon fiber, and most other automotive surfaces. The aluminum side must always face the heat source. DEI Cool Tape is recommended for sealing edges and seams.
