The DBA DBA42166S is a 4000 Series T3 slotted front brake rotor for the 2015-2023 Ford Mustang S550 equipped with the GT Performance Package 6-piston Brembo front brakes (380mm), including Bullitt and Mach 1 models. Cast from XG-150 high carbon alloyed iron and processed through DBA's proprietary Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP), this rotor is engineered to handle the repeated extreme heat and stress generated by the large Brembo calipers under intense braking -- from spirited street driving to dedicated track sessions. The TSP process subjects the rotor to prolonged controlled heat cycles that relieve internal manufacturing stresses, maximizing thermal stability and minimizing the surface cracking that plagues lesser rotors under heavy use.

The patented Kangaroo Paw internal ventilation system uses 144 diamond and teardrop-shaped pillars to achieve up to 30% more internal surface area and 20% better cooling efficiency compared to traditional straight-vane designs, while simultaneously strengthening the rotor structure for greater stability under heat. The tri-symmetrical T3 curved slot pattern is CNC machined to dampen vibration harmonics for a quiet, responsive, and smooth brake pedal feel while providing increased out-gassing exit ports for consistent pad contact and stopping power on every application. The non-directional slot design eliminates the need for left/right directional rotors, simplifying installation. Thermo-graphic heat paint markings on the rotor edge change color at critical temperature thresholds, allowing drivers to monitor peak braking temperatures and optimize pad selection. For non-Brembo S550 GT and EcoBoost Performance Package front applications, use DBA42164S (352mm). The matching rear rotor for all S550 GT and EcoBoost PP models is DBA42165S (330mm).
