• Requires OE stamped steel or aluminum upper control arms - this ball joint is designed exclusively for Cognito's Bolt-In-Style upper control arm kits. Not compatible with Cognito's press-in style upper arms (which use a different ball joint, SKU 199-91253).

Product Description

The Cognito 199-91334 Bolt-In Alpha Ball Joint reworks one of the most failure-prone parts on a lifted GM truck's front end. Its bootless scraper seal replaces the traditional rubber dust boot that tends to tear under aggressive off-road use or larger tires, blocking out dirt and moisture without that common failure point, while the patented design blends the strength of a traditional ball joint with the smoother articulation of a uniball.

Precision CNC-machined from hardened alloy steel with no plastic liner, the joint is spring-loaded to take up minor wear automatically and stays greasable through an internal cavity for periodic maintenance. When it does eventually need service, it's fully rebuildable in the vehicle - no control arm removal required - using a separate rebuild kit. This specific version bolts directly into Cognito's Bolt-In-Style upper control arm kits for GM 2500HD/3500HD, 2014-2018 GM 1500, and 2015-2020 GM SUVs, and requires OE stamped steel or aluminum arms as the base.
