The Bilstein 24-194112 is a B4 OE Replacement rear shock absorber featuring DampMatic technology, engineered as a direct factory replacement for the 2010-2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212/S212) and 2012-2017 CLS-Class (C218) equipped with standard or Avantgarde suspension. DampMatic is Bilstein's passive amplitude-selective damping system that automatically adjusts damping force based on road input -- softening at small, low-frequency bumps for rolling comfort and firming during aggressive or high-amplitude suspension movements to maintain vehicle stability. The 36mm monotube gas-pressure design delivers consistent fade-free damping performance and superior heat dissipation compared to conventional twin-tube shocks. This shock is specifically calibrated to restore the original ride quality and handling balance of the W212 platform, meeting or exceeding Mercedes-Benz factory specifications.
