Vehicle Fitment

  • 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500 (6.7L Cummins Diesel) - with Banks Monster-Ram installed
  • 2007.5-2024 Ram 3500 (6.7L Cummins Diesel) - with Banks Monster-Ram installed
  • Compatible with all Banks Monster-Ram 6.7L Cummins variants (pickup and chassis-cab), including 42799, 42799-B, 42799-PC, 42800, 42800-N, 42804-N, 42804-R, 42805-N, 42805-R, 42806-N, 42806-R, and related systems
  • For use with Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram systems only - single-heat (older) Monster-Ram systems without the second heater port are not compatible

Fitment Notes

  • Add-on accessory only - requires an existing Banks Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram intake system; does not install into the factory intake manifold or any non-Banks intake
  • Doubles the Monster-Ram's included heater output from 750 watts to 1,500 watts total by adding a second 750-watt coil heater into the second heater port on Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram castings
  • This is the simpler/lower-cost path to 1,500W total - for owners who also want a billet aluminum heater body and TMAP relocation, see Banks 42809 (750W Coil Billet Heater Kit)
  • For owners wanting to add 1,500W in a single kit (bringing a Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram to 2,250W total), see Banks 42807
  • Does not include a billet heater body or TMAP relocation kit - those are included with the 42809

Features

  • Doubles the Banks Monster-Ram's intake heat output from 750 watts to 1,500 watts total - filling the second heater port on Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram castings
  • Simple bolt-on installation - installs into the existing second heater port with supplied hardware and cable; no cutting, splicing, or permanent modifications required
  • Banks coil heater design fails safely - unlike the factory Cummins grid heater, which can shed hardware into the intake and cause catastrophic cylinder damage, Banks coil heaters are engineered so any failure produces no risk of engine damage
  • Designed around RAM's cold-start block heater recommendations - enables cold starts down to -30°F/-34°C with block heat and -20°F/-29°C without block heat at 1,500W total
  • Outperforms the factory 670-watt grid heater at base Monster-Ram output (750W); this upgrade brings the system to more than double the factory heater's output
  • No maintenance required - unlike oiled filters or tensioned systems, the coil heater requires no periodic service

Product Description

The Banks Power 42830 is the 750-watt Dual Heater Upgrade Kit for Banks Monster-Ram intake systems on 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins diesel trucks. All current Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram castings include a second heater port specifically designed to accept this upgrade - the 42830 fills that port with a second 750-watt coil heater, doubling the total intake heat output from 750 to 1,500 watts.

Banks cold-start testing in a controlled climate chamber demonstrated that 1,500 watts of total coil heat with block heat enabled reliable cold starts down to -30°F/-34°C, and without block heat down to -20°F/-29°C - well beyond RAM's factory cold-start recommendations. Both results exceed what the stock 670-watt grid heater was capable of, and without any of the grid heater's failure risk.

The 42830 is the straightforward path to 1,500W total - a single coil heater with a copper washer and cable, designed to bolt in with minimal effort and no permanent modifications. Owners who want the added refinement of a billet aluminum heater body and TMAP sensor relocation should consider the Banks 42809 instead. For owners who want to add 1,500W in a single kit (bringing total system output to 2,250W), see Banks 42807. A Banks Dual Heat Capable Monster-Ram is required - this kit does not fit single-heat Monster-Ram systems or the factory intake manifold.
