Fitment Notes

• Intended for vehicles with at least a 2.0" lift and at least 1/2" bump stop extensions; check clearances before installing, as the truss may contact the oil pan in rare, extreme cases
• Before operating the vehicle after install, remove the coil springs and cycle the suspension - including full simultaneous compression of both sides - with bump stop extensions in place to confirm oil pan clearance
• Not tested on non-US JKs or right-hand-drive axle configurations
• Requires general welding and fabrication skill, including welding to the cast center section - installation should only be performed by a competent welder
• Stock axle components other than the housing may still not hold up to larger tires; use of this truss does not guarantee the rest of the axle assembly won't break under extreme use

Product Description

The Artec JK4451 is a patent-pending APEX front axle truss built for the Dana 44 front axle in the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon. Its defining feature is a peaked top shape that adds significant rigidity across the entire truss while actually reducing weight compared to a flat, thicker-material design - and unlike older truss designs with long weld seams, the peaked structure eliminates much of the weld warping and installation inconsistency that plagued earlier axle trusses.

The APEX structure doesn't stop at the axle tube between the coil perches - it extends underneath the perches themselves, creating a complete truss from one end of the axle to the other, something Artec notes as an industry first for an OEM axle application. The result is a stronger, more reliable factory Dana 44 housing that holds up to both hard off-road use and everyday driving, without adding unnecessary bulk or weight.

This is a build-specific upgrade rather than a simple bolt-on: it's designed for JKs already running at least a 2.0" lift with proper bump stop extensions, and installation requires welding to the cast center section, which Artec is explicit should only be attempted by a competent welder. Anyone installing this truss should also carefully check clearances and cycle the suspension fully before driving, since the truss can contact the oil pan in rare, extreme scenarios if that step is skipped.
