Product Description

The Old Man Emu 2883 is a front coil spring set engineered by ARB for a wide range of Toyota truck and SUV platforms including the 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, and international Prado and Hilux models. Manufactured from micro-alloyed spring steel and double scragged before and after shot peening, these springs resist sag and maintain consistent ride height under demanding off-road conditions and heavy accessory loads. The variable-rate design delivers progressive spring characteristics -- compliant over small bumps, increasingly firm under heavy compression.

Lift height varies by platform. On 3rd-gen 4Runners and 1st-gen 6-lug Tacomas, the 2883 is a heavy-duty spring for 200-plus pounds of added front weight, delivering 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. On 5th-gen 4Runners and FJ Cruisers it serves the same heavy-load role. On 2nd-gen Tacomas it acts as a lighter leveling spring at approximately 1.5 inches. The 2883 is not recommended for 2WD models without significant constant front weight, as the ride will be excessively stiff without load.

For optimal ride quality, pair the 2883 with matched OME front shocks or struts. Each spring is formed on computer-precision mandrels with OE-spec end configurations for guaranteed bolt-in fitment with no fabrication. A 5mm OME trim packer is available separately for fine-tuning side-to-side ride height. Engineered and manufactured in Australia by ARB.
