Fitment Notes

• This kit is ONLY required on 2019-2024 RAM 2500/3500 trucks equipped with the factory Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension option - RAM HD trucks with standard leaf-spring or coil-spring suspension do NOT need this kit and can proceed with a standard PowerStep installation
• Does NOT fit RAM 2500/3500 Mega Cab configurations - Mega Cab models require the separate AMP Research Air Tank Relocation Kit PN 79110-01A
• This kit must be installed BEFORE installing AMP Research PowerStep running boards on covered air-suspension-equipped RAM HD trucks - attempting to mount PowerStep brackets without relocating the air tank first will result in a fitment conflict on the frame rail

Product Description

The AMP Research 79109-01A Air Tank Relocation Kit is a required prerequisite accessory for installing AMP Research PowerStep electric running boards on 2019-2024 RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with the factory Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension. On these trucks, the factory air suspension system includes an air tank mounted to the frame rail in a position that directly conflicts with the PowerStep running board mounting brackets - without relocating this tank first, the PowerStep cannot be physically installed.

The relocation kit solves this problem with a steel bracket that moves the air tank to a new frame-mounted position that clears the PowerStep bracket area without compromising air suspension performance. After installation, the factory Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension continues to operate exactly as designed - the tank remains connected to all factory air lines and functions normally from its relocated position. The relocation itself requires no drilling and only basic hand tools: a 13mm wrench, a 13mm socket with an extension arm, and safety glasses. Most installations take approximately 20 minutes.

This kit covers Crew Cab and Regular Cab configurations of the 2019-2024 RAM 2500 and 3500. Mega Cab models are not compatible with this kit - those applications require the separate PN 79110-01A Mega Cab air tank relocation kit. RAM HD trucks without the Active-Level air suspension option do not require any relocation kit and can proceed directly with a standard PowerStep installation.
