• Fits DIESEL (6.6L Duramax) models ONLY - does NOT fit 2017-2019 Silverado 2500HD/3500HD or Sierra 2500HD/3500HD equipped with a gasoline engine; a separate kit number covers gas-engine HD applications
• This kit was specifically engineered to accommodate the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank location on 2017-2019 GM Duramax HD trucks; the DEF tank occupies space along the frame rail on the passenger side that differs from gas-engine configurations and requires a kit designed around it
• Fits Double Cab and Crew Cab body styles - boards must be trimmed to fit on Double Cab models; Crew Cab models do not require board trimming
• Does NOT fit Regular Cab (single cab) configurations
• No drilling into the body or frame is required for installation; however, installation does require modification of the fender trim to route the wiring harness cleanly

Product Description

The AMP Research 76247-01A PowerStep is a Plug-N-Play automatic electric running board kit designed specifically for 2017-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine. This kit covers Double Cab and Crew Cab configurations on all trim levels and is engineered to work around the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank that is standard on all GM Duramax HD trucks beginning with the 2011 model year - a packaging constraint that requires a dedicated set of mounting brackets distinct from gas-engine HD applications and earlier diesel kits. Gas-engine Silverado/Sierra HD owners require a different kit number; this kit is not interchangeable.

The Plug-N-Play system connects to the truck's OBD-II diagnostic port under the dash, eliminating the need to splice into factory wiring or remove door panels for installation. The system reads door-open and door-closed signals through the OBD-II port and triggers automatic step deployment and retraction accordingly. One important note: because the Plug-N-Play module occupies the OBD-II port, a separate Pass-Through Harness (PN 76404-01A, sold separately) is required for anyone needing to continue using the OBD-II port for scan tools, DEF system monitoring, or emissions testing while the PowerStep is installed. Installation requires modification of the fender trim for wiring routing but does not require drilling into the body or frame. Boards must be trimmed on Double Cab applications; Crew Cab models do not require trimming.

The step boards are constructed from die-cast and extruded aluminum alloy with a military-grade PTFE coating and anodized black finish - the same proven construction used across the PowerStep line.
