The Air Lift 59106BT is a SlamAir adjustable air spring kit engineered specifically for 1988-1998 Chevrolet and GMC C1500 2WD full-size trucks that have been lowered 5-6 inches at the rear. The "BT" designation indicates fitment compatibility with Bell Tech lowering systems, but the kit also works with other aftermarket configurations at the same drop height - including flipped axle setups and C-notched frames. When a truck is lowered aggressively at this level, the factory leaf springs lose a significant portion of their travel and load-carrying capability, which leads to bottoming out, a harsh ride, trailer sway, and compromised handling under any meaningful load.
