Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - designed for installation into Aeromotive fuel cells and compatible custom fuel tanks requiring a high-flow in-module pump configuration. Suitable for EFI and carbureted applications running gasoline, E85, ethanol, or methanol fuels.
  • This product is not legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles except as a direct OEM-spec replacement. It is intended for race vehicles, dedicated competition applications, and pre-pollution-control vehicles.

Fitment Notes

  • The 18069 is a fuel pump module - a pump assembly designed for in-cell or in-tank installation within a compatible Aeromotive fuel cell or custom fuel tank. It is not an external inline pump. Buyers requiring an external inline installation with TVS capability should use Aeromotive PN 11197 (7.0 GPM Brushless Spur Gear Inline Fuel Pump with TVS). Buyers requiring a module with 10.0 GPM flow should use PN 18070.
  • The outlet is oriented at 90 degrees relative to the pump body axis, which is the typical configuration for fuel cell module installations where vertical outlet clearance is limited and horizontal line routing is preferred. This distinguishes the 18069 from straight-outlet module configurations.
  • Ports: ORB-12 inlet and ORB-10 outlet. Both are O-ring boss ports requiring standard AN male O-ring fittings. Appropriate -12 AN and -10 AN fittings and fuel hose are required and not included.
  • Power supply requirement: This pump requires a straight 12-16 VDC power supply. It is not compatible with pulse-modulated systems or fuel pump speed controllers in addition to the TVS controller. The integral TVS controller is the only speed control method compatible with this pump. Vehicles with 16V charging systems must install a voltage step-down module before the pump.
  • The TVS (True Variable Speed) controller accepts a 0-5V analog DC input signal for proportional pump speed control. This input can be driven by a boost pressure sensor, a MAP-referenced 0-5V signal from an ECU, or another proportional analog source. When no speed control input is connected, the pump runs at full speed.
  • This is a special order item made to order by Aeromotive. Expect approximately 4 weeks lead time from order placement to shipment.

Features

  • The 18069 uses Aeromotive's integral spur-gear pumping mechanism - the same technology platform used across the Pro-Series Brushless Spur Gear external pump lineup. Spur gear pumps provide positive displacement flow, high-pressure capability, and strong compatibility with alcohol-based fuels including E85 and methanol. The integral design places the pump mechanism directly within the module housing, eliminating the external pump body and associated plumbing required by traditional external pump configurations.
  • At 7.0 GPM, the 18069 supports fuel-injected gasoline engines up to 4,800 FWHP naturally aspirated and up to 3,400 FWHP forced induction. Carbureted gasoline applications are supported up to 5,400 FWHP naturally aspirated and 3,800 FWHP forced induction. E85 and methanol ratings are proportionally scaled - see the Specifications section for the complete FWHP table by fuel type and induction type.
  • The True Variable Speed (TVS) controller is integral to the pump module and allows pump speed - and therefore fuel flow - to be modulated in real time via a 0-5V analog DC input. At idle and low-load conditions, a properly tuned TVS signal reduces pump speed and fuel flow to match actual engine demand, which reduces current draw, lowers motor operating temperature, and minimizes the amount of hot, engine-heated fuel being returned to the tank through the regulator. All three effects - lower power consumption, longer motor life, and cooler tank fuel - improve the reliability and efficiency of the complete fuel system over a long season of use.
  • 60 PSI continuous operating pressure and up to 100 PSI peak pressure (base plus boost) make the 18069 suitable for boosted EFI applications running boost-referenced fuel pressure regulators, where fuel pressure rises in proportion to boost and must be sustained at elevated levels under full throttle without pressure drop.
  • Brushless motor technology delivers more torque per watt, a higher torque-to-weight ratio, lower current draw at EFI pressures, less heat generation, and extended service life compared to equivalent brushed motor designs - particularly relevant for the methanol and E85 compatibility this pump is rated for, as those fuels' lower lubricity places additional demands on pump internals in brushed designs.
  • The integral external brushless controller is mounted on the pump module assembly rather than requiring a separate remote-mounted controller. This keeps the installation clean, reduces wiring runs, and positions the controller in a location where it can operate cooler than a fully submerged internal arrangement.
  • Lighter than traditional external mount pump configurations, contributing to lower overall fuel system weight in race car builds where every pound is significant.

Product Description

The Aeromotive 18069 is a 7.0 GPM Brushless Spur Gear Fuel Pump Module with a 90-degree outlet and integral True Variable Speed (TVS) Controller, designed for installation within Aeromotive fuel cells and compatible custom fuel tanks in high-horsepower competition fuel system builds. It occupies the space between an external inline pump and a bare in-tank pump - the module format integrates the pump directly into a housing assembly configured for fuel cell installation, with the 90-degree outlet oriented for horizontal line exit clearance where vertical outlet space is limited.

The spur gear pump mechanism and brushless motor deliver 7.0 GPM at 60 PSI continuous pressure and up to 100 PSI peak - supporting EFI gasoline applications up to 4,800 FWHP naturally aspirated and 3,400 FWHP forced induction, with E85 and methanol ratings scaled proportionally from those baselines. The integral TVS controller accepts a 0-5V analog input from a boost pressure sensor, ECU output, or other proportional signal source to modulate pump speed in real time. During low-demand conditions, the controller reduces pump speed and flow, lowering current draw, motor temperature, and the amount of hot returned fuel entering the tank - three compounding reliability benefits across a race season. When no TVS input is connected, the pump operates at full speed.

This is a special order item made to order by Aeromotive with approximately four weeks lead time. It requires a straight 12-16V DC power supply and is not compatible with pulse-modulated systems or external fuel pump speed controllers - the integral TVS controller is the sole speed control mechanism. Not legal for emissions-controlled vehicles. Warranty: 1 year from purchase date with proof.
