Vehicle Fitment

  • 1999-2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty (All Trims, 4WD, 36-Spline Steering Box)
  • 1999-2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty (All Trims, 4WD, 36-Spline Steering Box)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits 4WD models only - not compatible with 2WD F-250 or F-350 Super Duty
  • Designed for trucks with a 36-spline steering box - some 1999 and 2000 model year trucks were built with a 32-spline steering box; count splines on your existing pitman arm before ordering
  • Does NOT fit trucks with a production date prior to March 1, 1999 - use Zone Offroad ZONF8401 for pre-3/1/1999 production vehicles
  • Recommended for use with 5-6" suspension lift applications to correct drag link and steering geometry angles

Features

  • 4-1/2" drop corrects drag link angle after a suspension lift, restoring proper steering geometry and reducing bump steer
  • One-piece forged construction delivers maximum strength and durability over cast or multi-piece alternatives
  • Precision-machined to exact OEM fitment specifications - mounts directly to the factory steering box with no modifications required
  • Matches drag link angle to the track bar angle, improving on-center feel and eliminating steering wander after lift installation
  • Finished in a durable black e-coat to resist corrosion, rust, and trail debris
  • 36-spline fitment ensures a precise, rattle-free connection to the factory steering gearbox output shaft
  • Engineered and manufactured in the USA from high-quality American materials
  • 3-Year / 36,000-mile worry-free warranty on hard parts, with limited lifetime warranty coverage thereafter

Product Description

When you lift a 1999-2004 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty, the factory pitman arm can no longer maintain proper steering geometry - the drag link angle steepens significantly, leading to increased bump steer, reduced on-center steering feel, and accelerated wear on steering components. The Zone Offroad ZONF8403 is a one-piece forged dropped pitman arm that corrects this problem with a purpose-built 4-1/2" drop, repositioning the drag link to match the angle of the track bar and restoring the geometry your truck was designed to operate with. Precision-machined to fit the factory 36-spline steering box output shaft, it installs without any drilling or modification and finishes in a durable black e-coat for long-term resistance to corrosion and trail abuse.

This arm is specifically engineered for 1999-2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks running 4WD drivetrains with 5-6 inches of suspension lift. The forged one-piece design eliminates the failure points associated with cast or welded multi-piece arms, making it a critical safety and performance upgrade for any lifted Super Duty. By correcting drag link alignment, the ZONF8403 reduces steering vibration, improves turning radius consistency, and eliminates the vague, darty feel that commonly develops after a lift is installed without a geometry correction.

Before ordering, it is essential to verify your truck's steering box spline count. While the vast majority of 1999-2004 Super Duty trucks use a 36-spline steering box, some early 1999 and 2000 model year trucks were produced with a 32-spline unit - count the splines on your existing pitman arm to confirm. Additionally, this part does not fit trucks with a production date prior to March 1, 1999; owners of those early-build units should order the Zone Offroad ZONF8401 instead. Zone Offroad backs the ZONF8403 with a 3-Year / 36,000-mile worry-free warranty on hard parts, followed by limited lifetime warranty coverage for the original retail purchaser.
