Fitment Notes

• Fits 4WD models only - does not fit 2WD Ram 2500 or 3500
• Designed for trucks with the factory steering box where the sector shaft spline measures 1-1/4" - if the steering box has been upgraded and the sector shaft measures approximately 1-1/2" to 1-5/8", order ZOND8404 instead
• Fits all cab and bed configurations including Regular Cab, Quad Cab, and Mega Cab (2006+ Ram 3500)
• Compatible with both SRW (single rear wheel) and DRW (dually) Ram 3500 models - the pitman arm mounts to the same factory steering box across configurations
• 2005-2008 Ram 2500 Power Wagon models are compatible - note that Power Wagon trucks came from the factory with approximately 2" of additional ride height, which should be factored into total lift calculations when pairing with a lift kit

Product Description

The Zone Offroad ZOND8403 is a 5-inch dropped pitman arm engineered specifically for 2003-2008 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with 4WD and the factory recirculating-ball steering box. When a solid-front-axle truck like the third-generation Ram HD is lifted, the factory pitman arm creates a severe downward angle in the drag link - the rod that connects the steering box output to the steering knuckle. This steep angle introduces bumpsteer, where the front wheels steer themselves as the suspension cycles over bumps, and steering wander, where the truck drifts unpredictably on the highway. The ZOND8403 replaces the factory arm with a forged, one-piece unit that drops the drag link connection point 5 inches, restoring the drag link to a near-parallel relationship with the track bar and correcting the geometry that your lift kit disturbed.

Forged from high-strength steel and machined to tight tolerances, the ZOND8403 bolts directly to the factory steering box sector shaft - no welding, drilling, or modification required. The e-coat finish bonds to the forged steel at the molecular level, providing superior long-term corrosion protection compared to conventional spray paint or powder coat applied to a cast surface. This is a one-piece arm, which means there are no joints, welds, or seams to fatigue or fail under the load cycles that heavy-duty trucks experience when towing, hauling, or driving on rough terrain. An important compatibility note: this arm is designed for trucks retaining the factory steering box, where the sector shaft spline measures 1-1/4". Trucks with an upgraded aftermarket steering box (sector shaft approximately 1-1/2" to 1-5/8") require part number ZOND8404.
