Fits 2013 and older GM 8.25" IFS (Independent Front Suspension) front differentials only - does not fit 2014 & up GM 9.25" IFS applications
Reverse rotation gears - this is a front IFS application requiring reverse-cut gears; standard rotation gears will not work
Carrier break applies: 2010 GM 8.25" IFS front ends equipped with the factory 3.08 ratio will require a new carrier case (Yukon YC G26018131) when changing to 3.42 & up ratios - the 3.73 ratio requires this case swap
Deck height with 3.08 ratio carrier: 1.780" - Deck height with 3.42 & up carrier: 1.920"
A master install kit with pinion bearings, races, seal, and crush sleeve is required and sold separately
Front gear ratio must match rear gear ratio for proper 4WD operation

The Yukon YG GM8.25-373R is a high-performance 3.73 ratio ring and pinion gear set for the GM 8.25" IFS (Independent Front Suspension) front differential found in 1988-2013 GM 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton 4WD trucks and SUVs. The "R" designation is critical - this is a reverse rotation gear set, as required by all front IFS differentials; standard rotation gears are not compatible. Yukon engineers these gear sets using high-grade alloy steel with advanced heat-treating and precision CNC finishing to meet OEM fitment standards for quiet, long-lasting operation.

The 3.73 ratio is a popular regear choice for owners running larger tires who need to restore proper throttle response, towing capability, and speedometer accuracy - and it must be matched to the rear gear ratio for correct 4WD function. An important carrier note: 2010 GM 8.25" IFS front ends originally equipped with the factory 3.08 ratio have a different carrier case and will require a new 3.42 & up carrier (Yukon YC G26018131, sold separately) before installing this gear set. A master install kit with pinion bearings, races, seal, and crush sleeve is also required and sold separately.
