Fitment Notes

• This is a "hub delete" style kit that replaces the internal manual locking hub mechanism with solid drive flanges, converting the front axle to a simpler, always-engaged design - a common upgrade for off-road and rock crawling use where the internal locking hub mechanism is a frequent failure point under stress
• Fits 30-spline outer stub axles specifically; a separate kit (YHC50007) exists for 19-spline outer stubs - confirm your spline count before ordering
• A non-engraved cap version (YHC50002) is also available if you don't need the Yukon-branded caps
• Once installed, the front axle is always mechanically engaged whenever the front driveshaft is connected - locking/unlocking must be handled through the transfer case or another disconnect method rather than hub-mounted locks

Product Description

The Yukon YHC50001 is a Hardcore drive flange kit designed to replace the internal manual locking hub mechanism on a Dana 44 front axle with 30-spline outer stubs. Internal locking hubs, while convenient for switching between 2WD and 4WD, are a well-known weak point on Dana 44 axles under the stress of aggressive off-road driving - they can strip, slip, or fail entirely, leaving you without front-wheel drive at the worst possible moment.

This kit swaps that internal mechanism for solid drive flanges, permanently and mechanically connecting the axle shaft to the wheel hub whenever the front axle is engaged. It's a popular upgrade for rock crawlers, overlanders, and serious off-road builds where reliability under load matters more than the convenience of hub-based 2WD/4WD switching. The kit includes Yukon-engraved caps for a finished, branded look, along with all hardware needed for installation.

Because this changes how your front axle engages, plan for how you'll switch between 2WD and 4WD after installation - typically through the transfer case rather than the hubs.
