Product Description

The Yukon YGLF8.8-31 Grizzly Locker is a full carrier replacement mechanical locking differential engineered for the Ford 8.8" straight axle with 31-spline axle shafts. Unlike limited-slip differentials that rely on clutch packs or friction, the Grizzly Locker is a true positive-locking unit - it delivers 100% of available torque to both rear tires simultaneously, making it ideal for rock crawling, drag racing, trail running, and any situation where maximum traction is non-negotiable. Its patented clutch tooth design features a larger radius at the base of each tooth, providing up to 350% greater shear strength than conventional back-cut locking designs, and large teeth that resist breakage under catastrophic axle shock loads.

The Grizzly Locker operates automatically - it locks when wheel speed difference is detected side-to-side, and disengages during cornering to allow normal wheel differentiation for drivability on the street or trail. The forged case and 8620 alloy internals are built to handle the abuse of high-horsepower Mustangs, built F-150s, and off-road rigs alike. Installation requires replacement of the carrier bearings (LM102949 / LM102910, sold separately). This unit is assembled and quality-tested in the USA and is backed by Yukon's manufacturer warranty.
