The Yukon YDGGM8.5-3-28-1 is a Dura Grip clutch-pack limited slip differential for the GM 8.5" rear axle with 28-spline axles on 1998 and earlier GM vehicles running 2.73 and up gear ratios. It covers a wide range of Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs spanning the 1970s through the late 1990s. For 1999 and later 30-spline applications use YDGGM8.5-3-30-1.

Requires special large-journal carrier bearings (LM102949 / LM102911, 2.891" race OD) -- not interchangeable with standard GM 8.5" bearings, must be ordered separately. 4-spring Raybestos composite clutch-pack delivers smooth, progressive traction without the harshness of a locker. Forged 4320 chromoly spider gears and nodular iron case throughout. Fully rebuildable. Non-synthetic GL-5 gear oil and Yukon LSD additive (OILADD) required. Assembled in the USA. Backed by Yukon's 1-year limited warranty.
