Fitment Notes

• Fits 35-spline Dana 80 axles only - earlier and lower-capacity Dana 80 applications used a smaller spline count and are not compatible
• Compatible with 3.73 and numerically lower (taller) gear ratios only; not for use with 4.10-and-up ratio gear sets
• Also found in some 1999-2008 Ford motorhome chassis with the Dana 80 rear axle; confirm your differential tag before ordering, as engineering changes occurred throughout the Dana 80's production run

Product Description

The Yukon YDGD80-3-35 Dura Grip is a positraction limited-slip differential built for the 35-spline Dana 80 rear axle found in heavy-duty dually trucks like the Ford F-350/F-450 Super Duty and Dodge Ram 3500. Unlike a standard open differential, the Dura Grip uses composite clutch packs to send power to both rear wheels when traction is uneven, improving control when towing, hauling, or driving on slick or uneven surfaces.

Built with a high-strength nodular iron case and forged 4340 chromoly spider gears, the Dura Grip is engineered for long service life under the heavy loads typical of one-ton dually applications. Its 4-pinion design adds strength over simpler 2-pinion limited-slip units, and the fully rebuildable construction means worn clutch packs can be serviced rather than requiring full replacement.

This unit is compatible with 3.73 and numerically lower gear ratios only - it will not work correctly with 4.10-and-up ratio ring & pinion sets. It does not include a ring & pinion gear set; this is a differential carrier only, and Yukon recommends non-synthetic GL-5 gear oil along with limited-slip additive for smooth, quiet operation after installation.
