Fitment Notes

• Fits 1997 and newer Chrysler 8.25" rear differentials with 29-spline axle shafts only - earlier models (pre-1997) used 27-spline axles and require a different unit (YDGC8.25-27-1)
• Fits 2.56 & up gear ratios - compatible with all factory and common aftermarket ratio options for the Chrysler 8.25"
• Requires 29-spline axle shafts - verify your spline count before ordering; the Chrysler 8.25" was produced in both 27-spline and 29-spline variants
• Yukon recommends high-grade non-synthetic GL-5 gear oil plus Yukon LSD additive (part OILADD) for optimal break-in and long-term operation; synthetic gear oil is not recommended and may cause noisy or aggressive clutch engagement

The Yukon YDGC8.25-29-1 Dura Grip is a high-performance clutch-type limited slip positraction differential for the 1997+ Chrysler 8.25" rear axle with 29-spline axle shafts. It fits a wide range of Jeep and Dodge applications - from the Cherokee XJ and Liberty to the Durango, Dakota, Nitro, and Grand Cherokee - making it one of the most versatile Chrysler 8.25" traction upgrades available. The Dura Grip automatically transfers torque to the wheel with available traction, delivering smooth yet aggressive traction on pavement, gravel, mud, and trail without the harsh engagement of a full locker.

Built with a high-strength nodular iron case, forged 4320 chromoly spider gears, and Raybestos composite clutches, the Dura Grip is engineered for long service life in both street and off-road applications. The fully rebuildable design allows clutch pack replacement to restore performance without replacing the entire unit. Before ordering, confirm your axle uses 29-spline shafts - the Chrysler 8.25" was produced in 27-spline (pre-1997) and 29-spline (1997+) variants.
