Product Description

The Yukon Gear & Axle YGLD44-4-30 Grizzly Locker is a full mechanical positive-locking differential built for Dana Spicer 44 axles with 30-spline shafts and gear ratios of 3.92 and higher. Spanning a wide range of Jeep, Ford, GM, Dodge, and International Harvester applications from the early 1960s through the mid-2000s, the YGLD44-4-30 is engineered for rock crawling, trail running, off-road racing, and drag racing where maximum traction is non-negotiable. Under load it routes 100% of available power to both tires simultaneously, while its mechanical design allows the unit to automatically disengage during turns for manageable on-road behavior.

The Grizzly Locker's patented tooth geometry is what separates it from standard locker designs. Inner clutch teeth are cut with a larger radius at the base compared to conventional back-cut alternatives, delivering up to 350% greater strength at the tooth root - the most common point of fracture under shock loading from hard launches, sudden terrain drops, or catastrophic axle events. This design, combined with a forged steel case and 8620 chromoly internals, makes the YGLD44-4-30 one of the most durable locker options available for the Dana 44 platform across all supported applications.

This unit is designed for the 3.92-and-up (slow case) carrier break on the Dana 44, and is drilled for 7/16" ring gear bolts. If your application uses 3/8" ring gear bolts, ten Yukon YSPBLT-027 bolt spacers are required and must be purchased separately. This locker does NOT fit early Dana 44 axles with tapered axle shaft designs that used an axle spacer button, and is not compatible with Jeep JK or JL Wrangler applications - platform-specific part numbers exist for those builds. All units are assembled in the USA and are backed by Yukon's Y.E.S. (Extended Service) Plan warranty.
