Product Description

The Wilwood 140-17389-R is a TX6R Tactical Extreme front big brake kit engineered for the 2021-2024 Ram 1500 TRX and 2025 Ram 1500 RHO -- Wilwood's most extreme truck brake solution for the 702-horsepower supercharged Hemi platform. At the core of the kit are TX6R radial-mount six-piston forged billet aluminum calipers paired with massive 16.00" GT-60 curved vane Spec-37 alloy slotted rotors -- the largest production front brake rotor diameter Wilwood offers for a factory-spindle application. The caliper's 6.52 in² of total piston area per side and the 12.69 in² BP-Q pad contact area deliver stopping force scaled to the TRX's 6,350-lb curb weight and the extreme deceleration demands of high-speed off-road use. The Spec-37 alloy iron used in the GT-60 rotor is a premium alloy formulation engineered for elevated thermal capacity and fade resistance under sustained hard braking -- outperforming standard gray iron in both heat absorption and recovery. The 60 curved directional vanes evacuate heat from the rotor core faster than straight-vane designs, maintaining consistent brake torque through repeated stops. The rotor mounts on an aluminum black e-coat hat with a 0.810" offset, and each assembly is dynamically balanced for smooth operation throughout the wheel speed range. A minimum 20" wheel is required. The TX6R calipers use a radial mount configuration secured via the included caliper brackets, and the system is volume-matched to the factory master cylinder output for full OEM power brake and ABS compatibility. Braided stainless steel flex lines (220-17390) are included. This is the red caliper variant -- the black caliper version is available as 140-17389. Backed by Wilwood's lifetime warranty.
