Vehicle Fitment

  • 1993-2007 Subaru Impreza (All Trims: Base, RS, TS, Outback Sport, WRX, STI - Sedan, Wagon, Hatchback)
  • 1997-2008 Subaru Forester (All Trims: L, S, X, XT - SF, SG Chassis)
  • 1989-2004 Subaru Legacy (All Trims: L, GT, Brighton, Lancaster, Outback - Sedan, Wagon)
  • 1996-2004 Subaru Outback (All Trims: Base, L, Limited, VDC - Wagon)
  • 2005-2006 Saab 9-2X (Linear, 2.5i, Aero - All Trims)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits MacPherson strut front suspension configuration - verify suspension type before ordering
  • The Saab 9-2X shares the Subaru Impreza/WRX platform and front suspension geometry; fitment applies to all 9-2X trims (Linear, 2.5i, Aero)
  • Replaces the lower inner rear bushing position on the front lower control arm only - does not replace the front inner bushing (see W51709 for front position)
  • Professional press installation is required; not a press-free install
  • Wheel alignment recommended after installation
  • This is a standard alignment bushing - does not provide caster or anti-lift correction

Features

  • Engineered from Whiteline's proprietary advanced synthetic elastomer - delivers OEM-like ride compliance at low speeds while activating firm chassis control under cornering, acceleration, and braking loads
  • Superior elasticity and memory retention compared to factory rubber bushings - resists permanent deformation under sustained performance loads
  • Formulated to resist oil, grease, ozone, and weathering for long-term durability in all climates and driving conditions
  • Internal grease reservoirs provide continuous self-lubrication for optimum friction management and extended service life
  • Protective plating on all metal components provides a corrosion-resistant barrier harder and more durable than conventional paint
  • Reduces front-end compliance and vagueness caused by worn or deteriorated OEM rubber bushings, restoring steering precision and vehicle stability
  • Directly improves braking efficiency by maintaining correct control arm geometry under heavy deceleration loads
  • Installation guide included - provides detailed fitment instructions to simplify the installation process
  • Covered by Whiteline's Limited Lifetime Warranty for bushing kit products

Product Description

The Whiteline W51710 is a Front Lower Control Arm Inner Rear Bushing Kit designed as a direct OEM replacement and performance upgrade for Subaru Impreza, Forester, Legacy, Outback, and the Saab 9-2X - all of which share compatible front suspension architecture. The lower inner rear position of the front control arm is one of the highest-stress bushing locations on these platforms, and the factory rubber units are prone to cracking, tearing, and permanent deformation over time. As they deteriorate, drivers experience increased front-end vagueness, tramlining, inconsistent braking response, and accelerated tire wear caused by shifting control arm geometry. The W51710 replaces these failure-prone rubber bushings with Whiteline's proprietary synthetic elastomer compound, restoring - and improving upon - factory suspension geometry for a more precise, composed front end.

Whiteline's synthetic elastomer formulation is purpose-engineered for performance suspension applications. Unlike traditional polyurethane bushings that can introduce excessive noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), this elastomer compound behaves much like rubber at low speeds and in light-load conditions, providing compliant everyday drivability. Under performance loads - cornering, hard braking, and acceleration - the material stiffens and activates, delivering direct chassis control and substantially reduced compliance compared to factory rubber. Internal grease reservoirs built into the bushing design provide continuous self-lubrication, eliminating the dry squeak and binding that can plague conventional aftermarket bushings after installation. All metal hardware in the kit receives a protective plating finish that resists corrosion far better than standard paint, ensuring long-term performance even in wet, salty, or high-humidity environments.

Installation requires a hydraulic or arbor press to remove the original factory bushings and press in the new Whiteline units - this is not a press-free installation, and professional shop installation is recommended if press equipment is not available. The kit includes Whiteline's detailed installation guide to walk technicians through the process. Because this bushing affects front wheel alignment geometry, a full wheel alignment is strongly recommended after installation to optimize tire wear and handling balance. For owners looking for a complete front lower control arm bushing solution, this kit addresses the inner rear position; the companion bushing for the inner front position is the W51709, and both can be installed together for a fully refreshed front suspension.
