The Volant 15453D is a DryTech closed box cold air intake system engineered for 2009-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks, as well as 2009-2014 GM full-size SUVs including the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, and Cadillac Escalade lineup with 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L V8 engines. The system replaces the factory rubber tubing and restrictive resonator box with a larger-volume, fully sealed polyethylene air box and a free-flowing intake tube, delivering a greater volume of cool, dense ambient air to the engine for improved throttle response, power output, and fuel efficiency.

The DryTech 3D Synthetic filter at the heart of this system is an oil-free, washable, and reusable design that requires no oiling or special maintenance products - a simple soap-and-water wash is all that's needed to restore the filter between service intervals. The multi-layer synthetic media provides progressively finer filtration from the outer to inner layers, capturing a wide range of contaminant sizes while maintaining strong airflow. The closed air box construction is critical to the system's performance advantage: by fully enclosing the filter, it shields the intake charge from the hot air rising off the engine and surrounding components, ensuring the air entering the throttle body is as cool and dense as possible.
