Fitment Notes

• Fits 2001 model year Dodge RAM ONLY - the 1994-2000 RAM 1500/2500/3500 uses a different intake system (Volant Part #16859) and the 2002+ RAM uses separate part numbers. This kit is not interchangeable with adjacent model years.
• CARB Emissions Compliant - California Air Resources Board Executive Order #D-526-4 covers the 2001 RAM 1500 3.9L V6 with oiled filter. Verify CARB EO applicability for your specific engine before purchasing in California.

The Volant 16959 is a complete closed-box cold air intake system engineered specifically for the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 and 2500 across the 3.9L V6, 5.2L V8, and 5.9L V8 engine options in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. It is the 2001-specific iteration of Volant's closed-box RAM intake lineup, distinct from the 1994-2000 application (Part #16859) and the 2002+ RAM applications - the 2001 model year RAM uses a unique airbox mounting position and duct geometry that requires its own kit. The intake replaces the factory rubber airbox, resonator, and restrictive inlet tubing with a vehicle-specifically sculptured cross-link polyethylene air duct and an oversized cool-air box that draws from the fender-side ambient air rather than recirculating warm underhood air.

The high-velocity venturi MAF sensor adapter creates a smooth, aerodynamically optimized transition through the factory mass air flow sensor bore - maintaining accurate sensor signal while increasing airflow velocity through the intake tract for improved throttle response across all three engine displacements. The MaxFlow oiled cotton gauze filter (Part #5117) is included pre-oiled and ready for installation. It is washable and reusable with service intervals up to 50,000 miles when maintained with Volant's two-stage cleaning kit (Part #5100, sold separately).
