Product Description

The Yukon ZIKC8.25-S-29 is a complete open (standard) spider gear set for the 1997-and-newer Chrysler 8.25" rear differential, found across a wide range of Dodge trucks and vans, the Chrysler Aspen, and several Jeep models. Spider gears allow each rear wheel to turn independently while cornering; over time, especially under heavier loads or towing, they can wear, chip, or crack, producing the telltale clunking noise on turns or a whirring sound that gets worse with speed.

This kit replaces the full open-differential gear set - side gears, pinion gears, and the cross pin hardware that holds them together - giving you everything needed to address wear without replacing the entire carrier. Because several of these platforms were also sold with a factory limited-slip 8.25" axle, confirming that your differential is the standard open type (not limited-slip) is an important step before ordering, since the two use different internal components entirely.

Installation requires removing the differential cover and the carrier to access the spider gear assembly - a moderate-difficulty repair well within reach of an experienced DIY mechanic, and a common step during a broader differential rebuild or bearing/seal service.
