Product Description

The Yukon ZMNV22608 is a direct-replacement countershaft cluster gear for the NV4500 5-speed manual transmission, engineered to restore proper gear mesh and shifting performance when the original cluster shows worn or chipped teeth, excessive gear noise, or difficulty engaging gears. As the core rotating assembly that transfers power between the input shaft, mainshaft, and reverse idler, the countershaft cluster is one of the most failure-prone components in a high-mileage or heavy-use NV4500, particularly in trucks that see frequent towing or trailering.

This cluster is specific to early-style NV4500 cases equipped with the 2-3/4" reverse idler gear, which uses a dual-plane reverse power path rather than the single-plane design found in 1997-and-later transmissions. It's built to the correct tooth count and ratio to match the 5.61:1 first/reverse gearing used across 1992-1996 Dodge and 1995-1996 GM applications, making it a proper fit for rebuilds and overhauls on these specific truck platforms.

Installation requires disassembly of the transmission case and is best suited for an experienced DIY mechanic or transmission shop performing a full internal rebuild. Because early and late NV4500 countershafts are not interchangeable, confirm your transmission uses the 2-3/4" idler configuration before ordering - mixing cluster styles will cause fitment and shifting issues.
