Product Description

The factory torque arm tunnel mount on 3rd-gen F-body Camaros and Firebirds was designed around the 700R4 and T5, and it simply doesn't line up correctly once a 4L60E goes in - the added transmission length throws off the torque arm's angle relative to the driveshaft. The UMI 2261-B corrects that by relocating the front mount to the position the 4L60E actually needs, letting the torque arm run parallel to the driveshaft the way it's supposed to.

Built as a fully welded steel crossmember and mount bracket, finished in black powder coat, it's designed specifically to pair with UMI's tunnel-mount torque arm systems. If you're swapping a 4L60E into an 82-92 F-body, this isn't an optional upgrade - it's the piece that makes the torque arm geometry work correctly with the new transmission.
