Product Description

The UMI Performance 301516-B Rear Upper & Lower Control Arm Kit is a complete tubular replacement for the weak, deflection-prone factory stamped-steel control arms on all 1978-1988 GM G-Body vehicles -- covering the Buick Regal and Grand National, Chevrolet El Camino, Malibu, and Monte Carlo, GMC Caballero, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Pontiac LeMans. Built from 1.625-inch OD x 0.120-inch wall DOM mild steel tubing with fully TIG and MIG welded construction and CNC-machined mounting points, these arms dramatically improve rear suspension rigidity, minimize wheel hop under launch, sharpen cornering response, and increase track consistency for street, strip, and pro-touring builds.

The arms are pre-fitted with greaseable Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings and zinc-plated steel sleeves -- a major upgrade over OEM rubber bushings that virtually eliminates suspension deflection while preserving acceptable street-driving comfort. The lower arms include sway bar mounting holes engineered to accept both stock and most aftermarket sway bars, including UMI's popular 1-inch G-Body bar. Installation is a direct bolt-on procedure that reuses factory hardware and typically takes about 2 hours with basic hand tools. Finished in durable gloss black powder coat.
