Fitment Notes

• Requires a programmable ECU with a High Current (20 Amp) H-Bridge output for electronic actuation control. Compatible ECUs can use PWM, 0-5V analog, or CAN-based output. The optional Turbosmart BlackBox (TS-0305-1001) can be used as an external driver for factory recalibrated ECUs.
• Actuator housing offers 3 clocking positions (3 x 120° options); the valve body is also rotatable on the V-band axis and non-directional, providing extensive fitment flexibility in tight engine bays.
• Liquid cooling line connection is required for actuator thermal stability - ensure coolant routing is planned prior to installation.
• No springs, diaphragms, or reference hoses required - this is a fully electronic unit with no pneumatic boost reference.
• Not legal for sale or use in California on pollution-controlled motor vehicles.

The Turbosmart TS-0563-1002 eSG40 Electronic StraightGate is a 40mm fully electronic external wastegate built for high-performance turbocharged applications where precise boost control and maximum flow efficiency are the priority. As the smallest butterfly-style wastegate in Turbosmart's lineup, the eSG40 is purpose-designed for tight engine bay installations where traditional poppet-style wastegates or larger units cannot be packaged easily. Its zero-offset butterfly valve generates a self-balancing effect against exhaust drive pressure, meaning the servo motor requires less force to actuate the valve - even at extreme boost and backpressure levels - resulting in more stable and responsive boost control.

Unlike conventional pneumatic wastegates, the eSG40 eliminates springs, diaphragms, and boost reference hoses entirely. Full electronic control is achieved via a servo motor paired with Turbosmart's zero-back drive gearbox, which prevents reverse actuation under high drive pressures. The onboard analog and digital valve position sensors, combined with the actuator temperature sensor, provide real-time closed-loop feedback for the ECU or Turbosmart BlackBox controller, enabling a tuning window that spans from zero boost to maximum available boost.

Installation requires a compatible turbo manifold with V-band wastegate provisions, a liquid cooling line connection for actuator thermal management, and a programmable ECU capable of a 20-amp H-Bridge output.
