Fitment Notes

• WRX only - does NOT fit WRX STI. The STI uses a different OEM bypass valve mounting configuration that is not compatible with this BOV. For STI applications, see the appropriate Turbosmart Kompact variant for that platform
• Direct bolt-on replacement for the factory OEM plastic bypass valve - uses the stock mounting flange and vacuum reference port with no modification required
• Replaces the stock Denso or Bosch plastic bypass valve, which is the OEM unit on these vehicles
• The 2015+ Subaru WRX (VA chassis, FA20DIT) uses a different BOV mounting configuration - this BOV does not fit 2015 or newer WRX models

Product Description

The Turbosmart TS-0203-1010 Kompact Dual Port is a direct bolt-on blow-off valve replacement for the factory plastic bypass valve on the 2008-2014 Subaru Impreza WRX (EJ255 - not STI), 2003-2008 Legacy GT, and Nissan Juke/Pulsar Turbo. It mounts in the factory OEM bypass valve location using the stock flange and vacuum reference port with no modifications.

The OEM plastic bypass valve on these vehicles has two well-documented failure modes: the rubber diaphragm mechanism degrades with heat cycling, and the plastic body develops stress cracks as it ages - both of which manifest as boost leaks, compressor surge, and inconsistent boost delivery that worsens progressively over time. The Kompact replaces both failure points simultaneously: the billet aluminum body eliminates plastic cracking entirely, and the precision-machined piston mechanism operates without a rubber diaphragm or O-ring seals, removing the primary mechanism of progressive valve failure.

The Dual Port designation means this BOV has two outlet ports - one recirculating back to the intake pre-turbo, one venting to atmosphere - operating simultaneously with sequential timing. At low boost and light throttle lift, the recirculating port is the dominant flow path, keeping pressure recycled through the intake and preventing the mass airflow measurement error that causes rough idle and lean stumble on MAF-based ECUs when a full VTA BOV dumps metered air directly to atmosphere. At high boost and hard throttle lift, both ports open for maximum pressure venting and the characteristic Turbosmart blow-off sound. The port blanking plug allows the valve to be instantly reconfigured to full VTA (for speed density / open-loop applications) or full plumb-back (for MAF-based builds where any VTA is undesirable) without purchasing additional parts.
