Product Description

The Turbosmart BOV Controller Kit with RacePort Black (TS-0304-1002) is a complete, all-in-one solution for adding electronic blow-off valve functionality to diesel engines and other forced induction applications that produce insufficient manifold vacuum to actuate a conventional BOV. The kit pairs Turbosmart's electronic BOV Controller with the legendary GenV RacePort - a 50mm, 330+ CFM VTA blow-off valve that is 50% lighter and 25% smaller than comparable products while delivering class-leading flow. Everything needed to complete the installation is included in the box, from the wiring loom and solenoid to the reinforced pressure tubing and mounting hardware.

The controller operates by monitoring the throttle pedal position signal. When a negative voltage change is detected - indicating throttle lift on deceleration or between gear changes - the controller instantly energises the solenoid, venting air from the RacePort cap and causing the internal piston to open and release boost from the intake system. This prevents compressor surge, which is a common and damaging occurrence on large diesel turbo systems when the engine decelerates against significant boost pressure. The result is a marked reduction in turbocharger stress, improved longevity, and noticeably sharper throttle response between gear changes. Sensitivity and duration adjustments allow the controller to be precisely calibrated to the specific throttle system and engine characteristics of the application.

The included GenV RacePort BOV uses Turbosmart's Boost-Balance System, meaning the sealing force scales proportionally with boost pressure - the valve holds tighter under higher boost, then vents rapidly and fully on throttle lift. The CFD-optimised internal geometry, MILSPEC hard-anodized valve guide and stem, and Hi-Temp Silicon Nomex diaphragm are all designed for sustained performance under race and high-boost conditions. A V-Band weld flange is included for the intake pipe connection, and the locking collar design allows spring changes and maintenance without tools. Note that welding the inlet flange to the intake piping is required as part of installation. Older diesel engines without a factory throttle position sensor will require a separately sourced external TPS switch.
