Vehicle Fitment

  • 1993-1995 Mazda RX-7 (FD3S, US-market)

Fitment Notes

  • Front and rear lowering spring set - complete kit, not a partial (front-only or rear-only) set
  • One source listed this application as "93-96" rather than "93-95" - since the FD3S was only sold in the US through the 1995 model year (broader FD3S production continued in Japan through 2002 under different market naming), I've used 93-95 as the confirmed US-market range. If you're fitting a JDM-imported FD3S outside this window, confirm compatibility directly with Tein or a distributor before ordering
  • Rear installation note: the factory rear bump rubber must be cut at 20mm from the bottom, using only the upper portion, for correct fitment with this spring's compressed length
  • Designed for use with OEM or OEM-replacement shocks/struts - not intended to be paired with performance dampers requiring a different spring rate range

Features

  • Approximately 1.4" front / 1.3" rear drop for a noticeably lower, more aggressive stance
  • Chrome vanadium SAE9254V construction retains more of the spring's working stroke while staying lightweight and durable
  • Progressive spring rate design balances ride comfort with sharper handling response
  • Green powder coat finish for corrosion resistance
  • Includes TEIN silencer rubbers on select applications to reduce spring noise
  • Each application road-tested for a real-world balance between comfort and performance, not just to a spec sheet
  • 1-year limited warranty covering sag beyond 5mm, breakage, deformity, and noise
  • Manufactured and assembled at Tein's factory in Japan

  • Position: Front and Rear (complete set)
  • Front Drop: Approx. 1.4" (36mm)
  • Rear Drop: Approx. 1.3" (33mm)

Product Description

The FD3S RX-7's 50/50 weight distribution and rotary powerplant make it one of the sharpest-handling Japanese sports cars of its era, but the factory suspension is still tuned around a broader comfort target than the chassis is capable of exploiting. Tein's S.Tech springs address that, lowering the car roughly 1.4" front and 1.3" rear while increasing spring rate over stock to sharpen turn-in and reduce body roll, without requiring a full coilover conversion.

Chrome vanadium SAE9254V construction is chosen specifically to retain more of the spring's working stroke over time compared to lower-grade spring steel, and the progressive rate design is engineered to avoid the harsh, uncontrolled ride some aggressive lowering springs introduce. Note that proper rear installation requires trimming the factory bump rubber - a detail worth knowing before you're mid-install and wondering why the stock bump stop doesn't clear.

This kit suits FD3S owners who want a noticeably lower, sportier stance with tighter handling while retaining their factory-style dampers. As with any lowering spring installation, a wheel alignment is recommended afterward to reset camber and toe to the new ride height, and given the rotary RX-7's cult following and long JDM production run, it's worth double-checking your specific chassis year and market against Tein's current fitment guide if you're outside the confirmed 1993-1995 US-market window.
